No matter what the cause of the trucking accident that led to your injuries, you’re going to have to produce strong evidence in order to be able to obtain the most compensation possible. An accident reconstruction could go a long way toward proving your case. Attorneys will oftentimes call upon reconstruction experts. The reason why is that reconstruction can be an incredibly effective tool, once that can convince a judge or jury a plaintiff’s case is strong.
The Jones Law Group has worked with these experts for years. And accident reconstruction experts have proven to be invaluable in helping our clients get the money they deserve for the suffering they’ve been forced to endure. If you’ve been involved in a trucking accident caused by the negligence of the truck driver or other responsible party, accident reconstruction could make the difference between receiving a fair settlement and receiving nothing at all.

In a nutshell, accident reconstruction is a scientific examination of not only how an accident happened, but also why it happened. If an insurance company fails to offer you a fair settlement, and you choose to take the case to court, an accident reconstruction could be used to convince the court the accident wasn’t your fault, and that you’re entitled to much more money than the insurer is willing to pay.
The accident reconstruction expert in your case will look at a wide variety of factors that contributed to the wreck. They then use several different types of information in order to determine how the accident took place.
First, the expert may look at the police report to obtain certain facts. For example, the time and date the accident took place, the location of the wreck, and the makes and models of all the vehicles involved. Then experts will also look for other information, such as statements from witnesses as well as the drivers, if they’re available.
Other evidence will be taken into account as well, such as any photographs or videos taken at the scene, the positions of the vehicles after impact occurred, and road and weather conditions when the accident occurred.
This and more information will then be inputted into a special program that can simulate the accident. Reconstruction specialists may also run experiments. They may alter different possible speeds of the vehicles, as well as the angles at which they were traveling, until the simulation is in line with the physical evidence that was recovered.
In most instances, the expert will provide an animated presentation that will give their opinion on how the accident took place. This presentation could be shown to a judge and/or a jury. These animations are typically very compelling – helping show that parties other than the victim are to blame for the accident.
In order to be able to win your case, you’ll need to be able to show that the driver of the truck – or some other party – caused the accident through negligence. Accident reconstruction could help you do just that. It will analyze each and every component of the accident. So it may be able to show, for instance, whether the truck driver applied the brakes at an appropriate time. It could show that the truck driver was speeding, or was weaving due to being impaired.
If that reconstruction helps establish negligence, you may be able to pursue compensation for the following types of damages:
If you can prove the driver of the truck was operating the vehicle while under the influence of alcohol or drugs, there is also a chance you could receive punitive damages. These are typically much, much larger than other types of damages.
In addition to evidence gathered at the scene of the accident, as well as other information the reconstruction expert will obtain, there are other pieces of evidence that can prove your case as well. Here’s a brief look at some of them.
The Jones Law Group has a long record of working with reconstruction specialists. And these professionals have helped our clients obtain significant sums of money. We also know how to gather the evidence these specialists need in order to put together the most accurate, effective simulation possible.

By: Heath C. Murphy + – Car Accidents The insurance companies have done a fantastic job of getting the American public to associate the term “soft tissue injury” with minor or not serious injuries. This is incredibly unfair to thousands of injured motorists each year. First of all, soft tissue injuries generally refer to injuries […]
